Expanding and enhanced our project cargo service
At Famous Pacific Shipping NZ, we have been handling industrial and project cargo in and out of NZ for quite some time. Recently, we have expanded our work in this area to include freight for New Zealand’s oil and gas industry.
As part of our commitment to improving our services, FPS (NZ) recently joined the Largo+ network, a dedicated network for forwarders specialising in industrial and project cargo. This network consists of experienced global forwarders who complement and extend our local expertise.
Conference in Phuket
To strengthen our ties within the network, we attended a joint network conference held in Phuket, organized by Largo+ along with their associated networks, InterConnex and Carvre7. Our Business Development Manager, Andrew Wright, along with delegates from 100 companies worldwide, participated in this three-day conference. It was held at the Marriot Hotel in the vibrant township of Nai Yang.
The conference had a less formal atmosphere than most, fitting the beautiful and tropical location. Consequently, one-on-one meetings took place around the pool and beach area, with attendees sporting shorts, polo shirts, and jandals! It created a relaxed meeting environment that was well appreciated, given the temperatures soaring up to 32°C throughout the day.
Valuable new connections
However, Andrew had little time to relax as this conference was like a project cargo version of speed dating. In just two and a half days, he managed to complete 29 one-on-one meetings; gaining valuable exposure to forwarders from countries as far as Sweden, Switzerland, Brazil, and India.
These meetings resulted in the formation of numerous new relationships. We are excited about the ongoing discussions and opportunities that these connections will bring us in the future. Our participation in the Largo+ network and active engagement at the conference will further enhance our ability to serve our customers in the industrial and project cargo sector.
